Many anecdotes are discovered during a visit to the Company Museum. For instance, many inquire why the goldsmithing industry flourished in Valenza: simply because after the war, gold was found in the Po River, and prospectors sifted for it with the tool depicted in the photo.
In the 80s, PALLAVIDINI developed a series of butterfly-themed brooches for the Gucci brand; it was Patrizia Reggiani herself who visited the headquarters and commissioned the production.
Dario Pallavidini was summoned to Paris by Mr. Van Cleef and hired as a model maker, but he declined the offer, as his employer Luigi Guerci brought him into partnership rather than lose him, recognizing his talent. Thus began the story…
Dario and Luigi married their respective wives on the same weekend, serving as each other’s witnesses. The photo was used as a symbol for the classic DARIO 1957 line, as were all the family brides, to represent history, but also the importance of the moment when a solitaire diamond is given as a gift.
The designs were hand-drawn in pencil, and the models were also handcrafted, starting from a tube or a metal sheet—a true work of sculpture.
